| UNESCO NEW YORK APPOINTMENT REVOKED

A headline in the last issue of unforum questioned the timing and qualifications of designating Ahmed Al-Sayyad as UNESCO Director in New York
by the outgoing Director General who, out of courtesy and in line with established practice, could have waited a few weeks for the new Director
General to make an appropriate appointment.
We were reliably informed that on the first day of taking over her new responsibility, the new UNESCO Director General issued instructions
through an official administrative "Blue Paper" revoking Al-Sayyad's appointment, considering it null and void.
