• The Economic and Social Council plans to use its spring session with IMF, World Trade Organization (WTO) and UNCTAD "to mobilize the international community to strengthen macro-economic and financial policy coherence, coordination and cooperation." Don't hold your breath.
  
  

• A group of countries interested in Security Council reform will be increasing its meetings and its membership in order to submit specific proposals to the next General Assembly session.
  
  

• A post of an Assistant Secretary General is expected to be filled in the area of political affairs. Lobbying for it is linked with other senior posts opening soon.
