• Initial preparations are underway for the NGO Conference to be held outside New York this year for the first time. UNESCO Paris expressed interest to help; further action is expected by the Department of Public Information in New York.
  
  

• A post of U.N. Press Officer for Yemen has been announced. Candidates have been interviewed and a short-list is being drawn.
