The date of 20 April has been set for a referendum in Cyprus. Greek and
Turkish Cypriot leaders were informed to facilitate the conduct of the voting
on each side.

Ten years after the Rwanda massacres, the Secretary-General will be proposing
a post of adviser on the prevention of genocide. Questions, however, linger on about what
happened in 1994.

Non-Governmental Organizations are expected to decide on the main theme
of their general conference next September.
