• Under-Secretaries General will be in a guessing game. Who will stay? Who will replace those leaving? Some hopeful ambassadors are also counting the days to 1 January -- just in case they are selected to former the new team.

• New non-permanent members of the Security Council are to be selected in October for the next two years.

• Questions will be raised on Budget issues, particularly salary surveys at the Financial (Fifth) Committee.
