THE LAST CARTOON FOR INTERNATIONAL ARTIST KAHIL |
2/24/2003
The most prominent Arab cartoonist Mahmoud Kahil died in London where he produced a daily
political commentary for pan-Arab "Asharq Al-Awsat." He was syndicated throughout the
Arab world and internationally. Most leaders whom he depicted displayed framed pieces of his
work. They included former U.S. President Bill Clinton, Saudi Ambassador to Washington Prince
Bandar, and former U.N. Secretary-General Boutros-Ghali. As Kofi Annan has no Arab speaking
press officer to provide him with Kahil's personalized view of movers and shakers, following
is the last cartoon in the 7 February issue.
